Songs of the Soul

Tue Sep 22, 2009, 3:28 AM
It’s really weird how I get obsessed over little parts in certain songs. I tend to get addicted to those parts and I keep listening to those parts over and over.
Sometimes it’s because of the lyrics other times it might be because of the way it was sung. I really don’t know why but something about those few lines…makes me feel like I can relate to him.

Here are a few:-

“One thought of you is all it takes
to leave the rest of the world behind”

A lonely September ~ Plain White T’s

“Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts?
Just a cage of rib bones and other various parts.
So it's fairly simple to cut right through the mess,
And to stop the muscle that makes us confess.”

Breakable ~ Ingrid Michaelson

“Wherever you go, I will be waiting
whenever you call, I will be there
whatever it takes, I'll make your darkest days so bright
I'm in your heart tonight”

Gone So Young ~ Amber Pacific

“I'm a puzzle yes indeed
Ever complex in every way
And all the pieces aren't even in the box
And yet you see the picture clear as day”

Flaws and All ~ Beyonce

“When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end”

Tragedy ~ Brandi Carlile

“I've seen perfection in a rainbow in the sky
I've seen a child make the coldest grown man cry”

You’re the Only Place ~ Josh Groban

And I could go on…..

  • Mood: Sentimental
  • Listening to: Only Hope ~ Switchfoot
  • Reading: W.B Yates
  • Watching: his beautiful words...
